Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for defoamer, silicone, dispersion and energy curable dispersion sales growth for various markets including industrial coatings, architectural paint, wood coatings, graphic arts, construction, electronics, adhesives, etc.
• Grow existing customer base as well as prospect for new customer targets in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
• Work within the sales funnel utilizing prospect management skills, prioritizing qualified targets, written pre-call plans, post-call reports and key account profiles as well as managing personal pipeline file.
• Qualifying targets by understanding volume potential, technical and commercial unmet needs and provide value-sell solutions.
• Use of industry contacts to develop strong relationships with key-decision maker and influencers throughout customers organization while utilizing formal account planning to layout organizations profile, projects, next steps, etc.
• Manage travel time to ensure as many qualified customers are visited within a week’s travel plans while traveling to all key cities within territory multiple times each quarter
• Consistent follow-up on customer projects, samples, requests, etc.
• Communication with customers regarding price increases, product availability, forecasting.


Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

• Minimum 10-15 years sales experience in the chemical industry required
• Proven track record of prospecting, researching and qualifying targets, use of pre-call and post-call reports, pipeline management and travel planning required
• Experience in various coatings and graphic arts segments preferred
• Proven technical sales of defoamers, silicones and/or dispersions preferred
• Knowledge of west coast markets a plus.
Must possess excellent organization, prioritization and follow-up skills
• 3-5+ years of technical background beneficial
• BA/ BS in Marketing or Chemistry preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Results oriented, self-starter who works well independently and understands expectations
Must be willing to travel 40% - 70%+ of the time when needed
Must possess basic sales competencies including: business acumen, problem solving, dealing with ambiguity, customer focus, composure, organizational agility, rapport building, etc
